Feel the thrill of performing “There’s A Boy In The Girls Bathroom” by Louis Sachar (author of “Holes” and “Sideways Stories From Wayside School”) at the Theatre Auditorium right here in D. A. Grout Elementary School! Imagine yourself with an all-youth cast in full costumes and props performing for an audience! That is what is in store for our students at the end of this exciting Summer Camp brought to you by SUN Community Schools, New Moon Productions, and Portland Parks & Recreation.
This extensive theatre camp features instruction by long time theatre professional Michael Wehrli and another highly qualified instructor in many areas including: acting, improvisation, stage movement, voice production, and other performing skills. The camp is open for students ages 8 - 18. Every day students will work with the instructors on improving their artistic skills as well as rehearsing the show. Classes are Monday through Fridays, 9:00am-3:00pm and take place at D. A. Grout Elementary School (SE Holgate & 32nd). Performances will take place on the evening of the last day of camp (July 16th).

Boo for the villain, cheer for the hero, and sigh for the heroine! This hilarious melodrama is heavy on the jokes and features several zany characters: two hip-chicks from the 1970s, the Princes of Rap, a goofy Fairy Godmother, two Barbarians, and many other surprises!
The young actors will feel the thrill of performing this fun play at the Theatre Auditorium in D. A. Grout Elementary School! Tuition for either camp is $399 – that’s only $6.14 per classroom hour !
Some partial scholarships are available.
